As with any natural product, cork planks will vary in shade and pattern from plank to plank, and are subject to the fading effects of direct sunlight. If proper care is taken to protect against intense UV light this natural process can be lessened. Cork, like wood, will expand and contract with humidity fluctuations in the installation environment. If humidity is controlled on the job site year round, this natural phenomenon is less likely to occur.
